Travel to Quadra Island

Campbell River is the stepping off point on Vancouver Island for the short 10 minute ferry crossing to Quadra Island. The majority of travellers reach Quadra by ferry from Campbell River.

Campbell River is served by regular scheduled flights to the Campbell River and District Airport (YBL) from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) the direct flights with HeliJet from Seattle have stopped. An airport shuttle service can take you from YBL to the ferry terminal on a quick 15 minute drive.

Seasonal scheduled floatplane services are also available to Cambpell River from Vancouver and Seattle.

BC Ferries provide another main link between mainland BC and Vancouver Island with regular sailings from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay (Nanaimo) and sailings from Tsawassen to Duke Point (Nanaimo) and Swartz Bay (Victoria). For more detailed travel information visit Campbell River and Region Tourism web site.

From downtown Campbell River a car & passenger ferry makes a regular hourly crossing to Quathiaski Cove on Quadra Island. If travelling by vehicle be sure to give yourself plenty of time and expect waits at the ferry at peak times. Locals appreciate visitors avoiding commuter sailings: 8 & 9 am off Quadra and 5:25 & 6:15 pm from Campbell River.

Get around Quadra by car, bike, local taxi or watch for new 'Car Stop' hitch-hiking points around the island.
