The diverse community of Quadra Island is reflected in the art and culture of the island. There are many resident artists living and practicing their crafts to various degrees. The Quadra Island Community Centre is a hive of activity throughout the year and many concerts, plays, workshops and performances of all types happen here.

It is our hope that during your visit you will gain some insight into the beliefs and practices of the Kwa'Kwa'Ka' Wa'Kw people.
Nuyumbalees means, The Beginning. The Nuyumbalees Society was founded in 1975 by Hereditary and Elected Chiefs of the Kwa' Kwa' Ka' Wa'Kw people, to negotiate the return of their Potlatch Treasures and Regalia (Kikasuw). Enjoy the Beautiful Treasures of the Sacred Potlatch Collection exhibited in the Main Gallery and Upper Gallery. Allow approximately 45 minutes to fully enjoy the exhibits. Movies are shown throughout the day and may be enjoyed at your leisure in the Lower Gallery.

Come and be surrounded by art, light and color in the ultimate West Coast gallery and gift emporium.
